KIEV, Aug. 29 – Coal mines under management of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry lost UAH 8.39 billion in January-July, up 34.2% year-over-year.

The ministry said that over the period state-run coalmines produced coal worth UAH 4.877 billion, which is 13.9% or UAH 790.4 million down year-over-year.

In January-July 2013, the average price of coal produced by state mines came to UAH 502.20 per ton. The average price fell by 15.2% or UAH 90.90 compared to January-July 2012.
