Government shelves bill to sell natgas assets amid corruption concern

KIEV, May 20 - Ukraine postponed indefinitely a bill that would allow the government to sell its natural gas pipelines amid growing concerns among opposition parties the legislation may fuel corruption.

“We take the bill off agenda this week,” Volodymyr Rybak, the speaker of Parliament, said on Monday. “Later, together with leaders of groups we will make a decision. Once we come up with a negotiated solution, we will submit the bill again.”
