KIEV, Feb. 15 – There is no threat of structural collapse at the Zaporizhia, Yuzhnoukrainsk, Rivne and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants, according to EnergoAtom.
"Speaking about the operating nuclear power plants, I mean Zaporizhia, Yuzhnoukrainsk, Rivne and Khmelnytsky, our company as the operator of Ukrainian NPPs has sent a letter of information to the plants asking them to conduct extra examination of all buildings and structures to check whether collapses are possible there," EnergoAtom’s Inspector General and Safety Director Danko Biley said on Ukrainian Radio on Friday.
He added that the same examination was carried out at the operating nuclear plants a month ago and no damage to bearing structures was discovered.
