KIEV, Feb. 11 - Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant, Ukraine’s No. 2 ferroalloy producer, will probably resume operation by March following a 2.5-month shutdown, a local government announced Monday.
ZFP was forced to shut operation in early December 2012, citing high power prices. The company later asked Ukrainian Prsident Viktor Yanukovych to intervene to make sure the company gets power price discount tat had been earlier promised by the central government.
Oleh Bespalov, the governor of the Zaporizhia region, said ZFP will most likely resume operation by March. But he said it can do so even earlier if talks with National Commission for Power Regulation, a state power tariff regulating authority, and Anti-Monopoly Committee, are successful.
