KIEV, Feb. 6 - Ukraine is not happy with the level of cooperation within the European Energy Community, which has failed to support the country on crucial issues, President Viktor Yanukovych said Wednesday.
Ukraine was particularly concerned by the community’s refusal to stop construction of South Stream, a Russian gas pipeline that is aimed at bypassing Ukraine on the way to Europe.
"Ukraine as a member of the European Energy Community fulfills all obligations to the European Union,” Yanukovych said after a meeting with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė in Vilnius, his press service reported. “But we are not satisfied with the level of cooperation with the Energy Community.”
