MOSCOW, Feb. 6 - Boeing Co. has sued its Russian and Ukrainian partners - Russia's RSC Energia and Ukraine's Pivdenne Design Bureau - in the satellite launch service Sea Launch, saying they refused to pay it more than $350 million following the joint-venture's bankruptcy filing in 2009, Bloomberg reported.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
Sea Launch joint venture was established in 1995 to launch satellites. Boeing Commercial Satellite Company held a 40% stake in the company, RSC Energia held 25%, Norway's Aker ASA held 20% and Pivdenmash and Pivdenne Design Bureau held 15%. In June 2009, Sea Launch filed an application asking to protect it from creditors at a U.S. court.
