KIEV, Jan. 4 – Kiev and Moscow are engaged in a diplomatic row following a Russian foreign ministry statement disparaging Ukraine’s attempt to juggle relations between the EU and Customs Union.
“You can’t be a little bit pregnant,” Alexander Gorban, director of the Russian foreign ministry economic cooperation department, had said in a Jan. 1 statement
Ukraine’s foreign ministry reacted by releasing a statement characterizing Gorban’s remarks as “insulting.”
"Despite the new year's calm, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry cannot ignore the extremely undiplomatic and insulting to Ukraine interview with our Russian counterpart, Mr. Gorban," Ukrainian foreign ministry spokesman Oleh Voloshyn told Interfax-Ukraine.
