KIEV, Nov. 15 - Jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, after a meeting with German doctors on Thursday, agreed to stop a hunger strike she had maintained for 17 days in protest of what she said were rigged parliamentary elections.
Raisa Moisseyenko, a deputy healthcare minister and a member of the joint German-Ukrainian doctor team examining Tymoshenko, said she will start accepting food on Friday.
“As a result of the meeting, the agreement has been reached that Yulia Volodymyrivna will start consuming food,” Moisseyenko said, adding that food has been delivered to her room.
