KIEV, Nov. 15 – The U.S. Department of State hopes that the United States won't have to introduce sanctions against Ukrainian officials after the parliamentary elections in the country, and supports the Ukrainian government's aspiration for European integration.
"We prefer cooperation with the Ukrainian government to sanctions. We think that cooperation is a way towards our common goals. And we will keep following this way, although I cannot predict the future," Director of the Office of Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus Affairs at the U.S. Department of State Baxter Hunt said in an interview with the Voice of America in Ukraine.
