KIEV, Nov. 2 – The Ukrainian government asked the International Monetary Fund to resume $15.2 billion lending program, but the parties are yet to discuss conditions, Gerry Rice, director of the IMF External Relations Department, said.
"Obviously, Ukraine has just had an election, so we look forward to engaging with the new government," Rice said at a press briefing in Washington, Interfax reported.
An IMF team was in Kiev from October 26 to November 2 to discuss with the government reform in the financial sector, particularly steps taken by the authorities to solve problems related to bad loans.
