KIEV, Sept. 28 - UkrTransGaz, Ukraine’s state-owned shipper of natural gas which moves the bulk of Russian gas to Europe, is now also capable of importing gas in reverse mode from Europe, a company official said Friday.
UkrTransGaz made technological changes and adjustments over the past four months to create capacity for importing 5 billion cubic meters gas annually from Europe, Oleh Mykhalevych, a deputy chief engineer at UkrTransGaz, said.
“We implemented measures that allow us to make the imports of gas in reverse mode,” Mykhalevych said in comments released by UkrTransGaz.
