KIEV, Sept. 24 – A lawyer for Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko said Monday that President Viktor Yanukovych, his family members and closest political allies should be targeted with U.S. visa ban for their role in her imprisonment.

Serhiy Vlasenko again accused Yanukovych of plotting the imprisonment of Tymoshenko in order to eliminate his main political rival.

“My personal opinion is that the list must be led by Viktor Yanukovych, who personally – I stress: personally – organizes and controls every step in the case against Tymoshenko,” Vlasenko said at a briefing in Kharkiv.
