KIEV, Aug. 17 – The holding of matches of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, had a positive impact on the replenishment of the budget, said Iryna Nosachova, head of the State Tax Service's office in Kiev.
Enterprises saw their revenues rise by over 20% in the second quarter of 2012, partly due to the holding of the championship.
"In the first quarter of 2012, they amounted to UAH 140 billion, while in the second they reached UAH 170 billion. Accordingly, an increase in income tax payments to the budget is expected," Nosachova said.
