KIEV, July 19 – A criminal case opened on the alleged evasion of the payment of more than UAH 3 million in taxes by officials of the TVi television channel cannot be interpreted as interference in the work of the media, Kiev Prosecutor Anatoliy Melnyk said.

"I believe that it's currently premature to say that it is interference in or obstruction of the work of the media. There is no need to talk about it at all, because the issue concerns the financial and economic activities of the company headed by [Mykola] Kniazhytsky," he said at a briefing in Kiev on Thursday.
