KIEV, July 17 - President Viktor Yanukovych on Tuesday signed a bill into law that makes it mandatory to add bio-ethanol to gasoline starting in 2014, his administration reported.
The bill, which was drafted and submitted to legislature by the Cabinet of Ministers, was approved by Parliament in June.
“The goal of this bill is to create favorable conditions for boosting production and consumption of alternative fuels and to strengthen the energy independence of Ukraine,” the Cabinet said while urging lawmakers to approve the bill.
