KIEV, July 7 – Hot weather and drought in Ukraine are forcing agricultural analysts to reduce their grain harvest forecasts for 2012 in Ukraine.
An expert from the UkrAgroConsult analytical center, Yelyzaveta Malyshko, told Interfax-Ukraine that the assessment of the grain harvest had been reduced due to expectations of a lower corn harvest, as today are there is unfavorable weather for its growth.
She said that UkrAgroConsult had reduced its grain harvest forecast from 45.5 million tons to 43.4 million tons. The forecast for corn was revised from 21.2 million tons to 20 million tons. The expert does not rule out that the indicator will be revised in the future.
