KIEV, July 4 – The further deepening of relations with CIS countries, especially in trade and economic cooperation, is a priority in Ukraine's foreign policy, President Viktor Yanukovych said.
"Economic cooperation is a basic area in CIS activity... Ukraine sees the energy sector as an important priority in cooperation with CIS countries... Cooperation with the countries neighboring the CIS provides new opportunities, an example of which is the well-organized parallel work of power systems of CIS countries with Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Mongolia," he said in his address to Parliament, the text of which was distributed to MPs on Tuesday.
