KIEV, May 14 - Ukraine will increase coal output to about 85 million metric tons in 2012 from 82 million metric tons in 2011, as the country seeks to reduce dependence on energy imports, President Viktor Yanukovych said Monday.

The new forecast exceeds earlier estimate by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, which has in January predicted the coal output at 84 million metric tons in 2012.
