KIEV, April 23 - Ukraine plans to build by the end of 2013 a new safety confinement over the damaged reactor at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Monday.
Over years, Ukraine raised 740 million euros from international donor nations, to build the confinement, the largest such project in the history of engineering, which will permanently cover Chernobyl’s reactor No. 4.
The construction of the project is expected to begin later this month.
