KIEV, April 3 – The State Savings Bank of Ukraine (Oschadbank), which is the government's agent for paying defaulted deposits of Soviet-era depositors, is planning to put compensation funds on local three-year payment cards, Oschadbank Board Chairman Serhiy Podrezov has said.
"We’ve decided that cards will be convenient in all cases: today this is the only proper decision," he said.
As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in March 2012 announced new social initiatives, including an increase in pensions to some categories of pensioners and the payment of UAH 1,000 in the form of compensation of losses of former Soviet rate depositors.
