KIEV, March 29 – The State Savings Bank of Ukraine (Oschadbank) from April will start updating data on registers of Soviet era depositors, to whom the state is planning to pay compensation of UAH 1,000 per person by the end of the current year.
The payments will commence from June.
Oschadbank Deputy Board Chairman Anton Tiutiun said during the Social Status program on the Tonis TV channel said that today 12 million Soviet era depositors are on the electronic register of the financial institution, and half of them obtained the compensations in 2008, so the payments concern other six million citizens.
He said that in April, Oschadbank would start updating its data on depositors.
