KIEV, Feb. 29 - Ukraine's biggest producer of natural gas, UkrGazVydobuvannia, or UGV, urged the government to lower ‘tax pressure’ in order to allow the company to increase domestic gas output.
Oleksiy Nesterenko, a deputy head of UGV, said the high taxes may hinder the government’s plans for increasing domestic gas output.
“Under tax pressure like this, it’s impossible to talk about increasing gas production in principle,” Nesterenko said at an economic conference in Kiev. “We should be talking about cutting fiscal pressure on both, private and state companies.”
