KIEV, Feb. 7 – President Viktor Yanukovych said he expects Ukraine will face many economic challenges this year and has urged lawmakers to show consolidation and understanding.

"This year will be very difficult in terms of the economy. We need to minimize the risks of a new global crisis," the president said in his speech at the opening of the 10th session of Parliament on Tuesday.
