DNIPROPETROVSK, Jan. 12 – Ukrainian metal companies cut cast iron production by 1.9% in December, steel output by 4.1% and rolled steel output by 3.1% compared to November due to a continuous fall in demand for metal products on the global and domestic markets, the Dnipropetrovsk-based Metallurgprom association announced at a meeting representatives of the mining and metal complex in Dnipropetrovsk.
The association said that in December 2.374 million tons of cast iron was produced, with average daily production being 76,600 tons, along with 2.759 million tons of steel (89,000 tons) and 2.55 million tons of rolled steel (82,300 tons).
