SOPOT (Poland), Sept. 5 - French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe has reportedly stated that if the EU and Ukraine sign the association agreement, its ratification would depend on the acquittal of opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

"In our opinion, which reflects the viewpoint of the majority, the agreement cannot take effect if the Yulia Tymoshenko case does not have favorable results," Juppe said at a press conference in Sopot (Poland) after an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers, according to Tymoshenko’s Batkivschyna Party, which cited the Polish PAP press agency.
