KIEV, Aug. 2 – There may be problems with the supply of coking coal to chemical-recovery plants due to the accidents that occurred at two Ukrainian coalmines at the end of last week, according to Anatoliy Starovoit, director general of the Ukrkoks association (Dnipropetrovsk).
"The two mines extract coking coal: the more powerful Sukhodilska-Skhidna coal mine in Luhansk region produces K and Zh coal, while the Bazhanov mine in Donetsk region produces K coal. If the Sukhodilska-Skhidna coal mine resume extraction within two weeks, by September 2011, there will be not shortage of coal at all, as there are stocks at warehouses," he told Interfax-Ukraine.
