KIEV, Aug. 1 — Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Monday she may be jailed before Ukraine celebrates Independence Day on Aug. 24, and said President Viktor Yanukovych has personally given the deadline.
“They are in a hurry,” Tymoshenko said before a Kiev court session in the morning. “According to our data, Yanukovych, through his administration, has given the order to make sure that I am jailed before Independence Day.”
