KIEV, July 29 – The government is not able to keep prices down, it is loosing control over basic processes in the economy and is failing to carry out reforms, according to Natalia Korolevska, MP from the BYT-Batkivschyna faction and head of the parliamentary committee for industrial and regulatory policies and entrepreneurship.
Korolevska said that the government had been unable to prevent a rise in prices on the domestic market over the past six months.
"The authorities failed to provide for the normal work of the foodstuff market, in which prices were growing even in summer. Most of the citizens in our country cannot afford an elementary basket of vegetables and fruit. Even borsch is becoming a luxury," she said, commenting on the results of a cabinet meeting, during which the results of the government's work for H1 were summed up.
