KIEV, July 21 – Around 1% of the medicine sold in Ukraine sold is fake or of low quality, State Service for Medicine Chairman Oleksiy Soloviov said.

He that the low quality medicine comes mainly from Southeast Asia. He said that the fake medicine is sold in large volumes and advertised on TV.

Soloviov said that in 2010 a plant producing faked medicine was discovered by law-enforcement bodies in Vasylkiv (Kiev region).
