KIEV, July 20 – Vasyl Volha, the head of the State Commission for the Regulation of Financial Services Markets and leader of the Union of Leftist Forces who was detained on July 19, is suspected of accepting a $500,000 bribe, the Segodnya newspaper reported, citing its own sources.
The newspaper said that the Prosecutor General's Office had long been monitoring Volha's subordinates and that in February 2011, a criminal case was opened against commission member Viktor Adamovych, who is accused of accepting a UAH 2 million bribe from the head of the supervisory board of a credit union in Odessa.
