KIEV, July 12 – The National Bank of Ukraine in June sold $1.498 billion more in foreign currency on the interbank currency market than it bought, while in May the surplus of the central bank's interventions came to $127 million, according to the NBU's Web site.
According to the report, currency purchases (U.S. dollars) decreased in June compared to May by 2.4 times, to $557.1 million, while sales rose by 69.6%, to $2.055 billion.
The NBU in April bought euros, Swiss francs and Australian dollars, while selling only U.S. dollars.
