KIEV, June 30 – A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a facility producing containers to store nuclear waste, including waste from Chernobyl nuclear power plant, was held on Wednesday in Slavutych (Kiev region).
Construction of the facility was financed by the European Commission and implemented under the TACIS nuclear safety program and costs EUR 5.568 million.
It is expected that the facility will produce 34,250 of metal barrels and 700 ferroconcrete containers per year.
