KIEV, May 4 – The international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine in April reached $38.192 billion, which is a new historical peak, according to Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisors to the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
"Our forecasts - that this year foreign currency reserves will outstrip the maximum figure that was set on September 25, 2008, before the crisis, at $38.159 billion - proved true," he said.
Lytvytsky said that the NBU, while replenishing reserves, is continuing to manage liquidity without creating undue price pressures.
