KIEV, April 22 - Parliament has given preliminary first-reading approval to wide-ranging increases in export duties and mineral rights fees.

A total of 236 MPs voted for government bill No. 8321, which introduces a 14% duty on the export of barley, 12% for corn and 9% for wheat, effective Jan. 1, 2012.
