KIEV, April 13 – Ukraine is planning to raise EUR 740 million at an international conference in Kiev on April 19 to attract funds for Chernobyl projects, such as completing the shelter facility and a new interim spent fuel storage facility (ISF-2) at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Emergencies Minister Viktor Baloha said.
"On Tuesday, Kiev will host a conference to raise funds for Chernobyl recovery projects. The G8 countries, the European Commission, and other investors are planning to make additional contributions. Ukraine expects that a greater part of the necessary funds will be allocated," he said at a press conference in Kiev on Wednesday.
