KIEV, March 23 - Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Wednesday attacked importers and retailers of gasoline and diesel fuel for charging significant mark-ups that lead to higher gasoline prices at the pump.
“Our conversation will be tough,” Azarov said at a meeting of his Regions Party. “Nowhere in the world there are such high mark-ups on fuel as in Ukraine.”
The comment comes a day after Ukraine’s anti-cartel agency slapped on 150 million hryvnias in fines on three gasoline retail chains, including Shell, for charging high gasoline prices in December 2010.
