KIEV, March 15 – Ukraine’s state agencies were ordered to create extra reserves of gasoline and diesel fuel to prevent shortages now that the government has recently restricted retail gasoline price increases.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said the energy and coal industry ministry, the economy ministry and the state reserve agency had been requested to act together for preventing the possibility of fuel shortages.
Azarov added, however, that there were “no any fears” that the shortages may strike Ukraine.
First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev told President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday that the government will introduce restrictions on gasoline and diesel fuel price hikes.
