KIEV, Jan. 6 – Inflation in Ukraine rose to 0.8% in December, compared to 0.3% in November and 0.5% in October, the State Statistics Committee reported on Thursday.
On the whole, Ukraine's inflation in 2010 totaled 9.1%, compared to 12.3% in 2009.
The State Statistics Committee said that the prices of foodstuffs and nonalcoholic beverages in December grew by 1%. The highest rise was in prices of eggs, vegetables, sunflower oil and sugar (2.9- 4.3%). Prices of milk, poultry, fruits and bread grew by 0.9-1.8%.
At the same time, prices of animal fats, rice, pork and butter fell by 0.5-3.7%.
