KIEV, Dec. 21 - The government on Tuesday scrambled to assure foreign investors that it has successfully replenished the money on its environmental account that it claims had been earlier misused by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

The assurances come after reports suggested that Japanese companies that bought carbon dioxide emission allowances in 2009 had threatened to cancel the deals amid concerns Ukraine had misused the money.
