2011 budget envisions trimming pension fund deficit to 1.4% of GDP

KIEV, Dec. 14 – The deficit of the Ukrainian Pension Fund in 2011 could fall to 1.4% of GDP from 2.46% of GDP in 2010, according to materials enclosed in the draft national budget for 2011 posted on Parliament's Web site.

"In 2011 transfers from the national budget to the Pension Fund are to be cut by UAH 6.5 billion [from UAH 64.8 billion to UAH 58.3 billion]. The deficit of the Pension Fund will fall by UAH 8.8 billion from UAH 26.6 billion [2.46% of GDP] to UAH 17.8 billion [1.4% of GDP]," read the materials.
