KIEV, Sept. 23 – The Prosecutor General's Office has started a pre-trial investigation into a criminal case on the activities of Ukrainian peacekeepers in Kosovo, Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Kluban said.

According to Kluban, in September 2009 Kosovo Force Commander Lieutenant General Markus Bentler sent an official letter to Commander of the Joint Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Volodymyr Mozharovsky that clearly detailed the crimes committed by Ukrainian peacemakers. In particular, the letter referred to illegal fuel sales and other offences.
