KIEV, Sept. 14 - Kazakhstan has agreed to increase supplies of its crude oil to the European Union via Ukrainian oil pipelines to about 8 million metric tons per year, President Viktor Yanukovych said Tuesday.
Yanukovych made the statement after talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who had arrived in Kiev for a two-day official visit.
“We agreed to increase transit of oil via Ukraine to about 8 million mt, of which certain amount could be used by Ukrainian oil refineries under a separate agreement,” Yanukovych said at a press conference.
