KIEV, Sept. 2 – Parliament has denied reports in the mass media about the extremely high cost of repairs to its session hall.
"Reports have recently appeared in the mass media that the central body of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine allegedly spent UAH 35 million on repairs of the session hall. The press service of the central body of the Verkhovna Rada, expressing surprise at the unprofessional approach by some journalists towards covering this issue, strongly denies this information, [which] doesn't correspond to reality. We report that during the current repairs, which the department for administrative buildings has carried out this summer, only technical employees of this department were involved. It also purchased materials worth UAH 106,300," reads the statement.
