KIEV, Aug. 24 – President Viktor Yanukovych admitted on Tuesday that some journalists may have been facing “obstacles” and restrictions while writing their stories, but said his administration had nothing to do with it.
Yanukovych reacted to mounting concerns among international media freedom organizations that Ukraine under his leadership has been drifting away from the freedom of speech.
“I do not rule out that some people, some journalists may face certain obstacles in some media while realizing their fundamental rights,” Yanukovych said speaking in downtown Kiev on Tuesday.
