KIEV, Aug. 12 - The level of dollarization in Ukraine slid by 2.1% to 29.6% H1, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.
The stable downward dynamics [starting from February 2010] of the economy dollarization level is evidence of gradual removal of the impact of the devaluation factor on economic agents' expectations and growing confidence in the national currency – as of July 1, 2010 the economy dollarization level was 29.6% compared to 31.7% as of early 2010," reads the NBU's report.
The NBU said that foreign currency supply on the interbank currency market jumped in H1, 2010. A rise in foreign currency inflow to the country has led to the stable domination of its supply over demand.
