KIEV, July 2 – The merger of Bank Kiev with Rodovid Bank or Ukrgasbank could lead to a rise in the size of bad debts and the worsening of the quality of a credit portfolio of the newly created structure, according to Oleksiy Kharytonov partner of the ILF law firm.
"In case of the banks' merger, debtors are to deal with a new creditor… But if debtors were not informed on the replacement in a written form, the new creditor could face troubles. Some borrowers would violate credit liabilities and try to avoid responsibility," he said.
