KIEV, June 15 – Ukraine expects to additionally receive 20 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from alternative sources such as shale oil gas, coalmine methane and through supplies of liquefied gas over the next five years, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko said on the Inter TV channel.
He said that Shell Company is Ukraine's partner in extraction of coal methane and shale oil gas.
"We're close to sign an agreement on the creation of a joint venture with them. I'm sure that we'll finalize our relations by the end of this year. We have good prospects not so much as for shale oil gas, rather than for coal methane," the ministry's press service reported, citing Boyko.
