KIEV, June 2 – President Viktor Yanukovych on Wednesday told Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, that Ukraine was about to launch economic reforms, and asked the organization to resume lending quickly.
The IMF last month postponed its decision on a $19 billion 2.5-year loan to Ukraine indefinitely, citing concerns over the country’s hidden budget deficit and slow pace of reforms.
