KIEV, April 30 - Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko left on a working visit to New York on Friday to participate in the 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported that Hryschenko would meet with the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the conference, including Austria, Denmark, Luxembourg, and Canada.
"Ukraine has been and remains a leader in the global nuclear disarmament process, as evidenced by President Viktor Yanukovych's decision to remove stocks of highly enriched uranium from Ukrainian territory, which was welcomed by the United States, the European Union and other members of the international community," reads the statement.
