KIEV, Feb. 26 – Ukraine in January boosted electricity exports by 74.9% or 237.3 million kWh year-over-year, to 554.1 million kWh, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announced.
The almost doubled supplies of electricity are linked to the fact that the Ukrinterenergo state company resumed electricity exports to Belarus, which share of total electricity exports last month was 46.6%, the ministry said.
Ukrinterenergo supplied 258.4 million kWh of electricity to Belarus, while in January 2008 electricity was not exported to Belarus.
